De Ceadaoin is a traditional Irish session band. They specialize in performing older works from the Irish repertoire as well as works by more modern composers and artists. The members include Jonathan Clark (lead fiddle active duty military), Beth Carson (second fiddle and new mom), Debbie van Tuyll (Irish whistle, harp, and chief organizer), Drake Rudolph (lead vocals and active duty Air Force), Sandy Adams (mandolin and former counselor), Bob Harmon (guitar, bodhran (Irish drum), back-up vocals, and physician), Hubert van Tuyll (banjo, back-up vocals and historians), and Charles Smith (who plays virtually any instrument you put in his hands and sings as well. He’s an Army veteran). We occasionally have an additional person playing with us — a former member, Matthew Doherty, who’s in school at the University of South Carolina. The members of De Ceadaoin have performed all over Ireland and Scotland. They have also played widely in and around Augusta, including events for the St. Andrews Society of Aiken, the Ancient Order of the Hibernians, the Knights of Columbus, Riverwatch Brewery, Savannah River Brewery, local churches, and the Augusta Canal Moonlight and Music Cruise. They have played at Arts in the Heart at least twice in recent years. Most of their gigs are done for community organizations, including the annual Christmas Dinner for blind veterans sponsored by the Hibernians.
