I am a artist who has a diverse audience ranging from children, veterans, and my peers. My spoken word comes from my life experience. It is very heartfelt and have emotion ascepts. I have a strong need to create a change in the community and to inform people that its always a time to change course so, I love letting my words and story motivate someone else.I have performed and spoken to children and people of all ages. I was a motivation speaker for an event called Boots to Breakthrough helping vets and spouses transition to civillian life. I have performed as a spoken word and as a podium poet in several places such asThe Bells and Whistles 29835 Festival Busboys and Poets in Washington D.C. Arts in the Heart Festival (2017), Natural Hair Shows, Peace in the Park Festival sponsored by Brahma Kumaris, toy drives, charity events and open mics. I have been blessed to have two radio interviews this year (Arts Weekly on Smooth Jazz 92.3 and Community Corner with K-love on Round Here Radio) sharing my story and things I am involved with in the community. Jade is an emerald that gets brighter as it grows and matures. Nakia is a spiritually name meaning faithful and on the path raising to great heights. Briefly Nakia Jade together means “faithfully growing”. Pushing past the fear you have to be faithful. Nakia Jade brings this message and truth sharing her story as well as sharing peace love and positivity.
