Local Artists Are Always a Favorite at Arts in the Heart!

There are about one hundred and forty artists coming to this year’s Arts in the Heart of Augusta Festival to share their hand-crafted works of art.  While Arts in the Heart attracts the finest festival artists from around the country, it also showcases an array of talented local artists.

Find out more about each artist on our Fine Artists Market Page!

Two of our local artists are award winners from previous years: REBECCA ANCHOR in booth 743 creates gorgeously bold paintings that show us light transforming the mundane into a colorful world; and KENDRA RUNNELS in booth 942 transports us into wistful spaces through her paintings on collaged paper.

JENNIFER KELLER in booth 856 brings whimsical and delicately crafted ceramics that will add delight to every cup of tea. Our local fashion artists will gear you up with the most darling aprons by DORIS MERRIWEATHER in booth 715, and sturdy yet funky bags by GINA KONN in booth 830.

We have some of Augusta’s favorite painters joining us this year: BILLY S lights up the corner of 9th Street with his colorful messages of peace and love; MIKE MEISSNER will be live painting with a palette knife at booth 806, and SINDHU PILLAI has unique views of Augusta in her booth 727.

Right next door to Sindhu you’ll find ILONA SCHMIDT with intricately beaded necklaces with polished stones woven into her creations. Two new local jewelers have joined the festival this year: AUDREY BURTON has snazzy leather wristbands and accessories at booth at the corner of 7th Street, and JASMIN TEAL is bringing her intricately and perfectly crafted polymer clay jewelry to booth 604.

Right next door to Jasmin in booth 602, we are excited to debut JASON BARRIS with his amazingly funky, hand-crafted birdhouses. Also new this year is a local digital artist, RANDI WILLIAMS in booth 612 who will be demonstrating her process on a giant screen live throughout the festival. Returning after his debut last year, you’ll find intricately layered wooden designs by RUBEN BRAUER in booths 729 & 731.

Along with our local artists debuting at their first festival, we also have some long-time favorite local artists, like TIM FITZGERALD in booth 944, whose beautiful and unique wooden cutting boards are made from both specialty and locally sourced reclaimed woods. Also returning we have BRADLEY TUBBS in booth 822 who uses his unparalleled glass-blowing skills to create “universe balls” that you peek into and discover a hidden universe of sparkling wonder in each wild creation.

SUSAN CALLAWAY in booth 858 returns with her fall-into-them large prints of local flowers printed in vivid clarity onto aluminum panels. GINO and PAM CARDAMONE return with their stunning and unique wooden furniture that capture the glow of the sun within their varnishes in booth 938.

And the Naked Blacksmith, aka JAMES BARROW in booth 964 with traditional, hand forged steel and stainless steel artwork and tools will connect you to humanity’s long blacksmithing history.
