CSRA Children’s Author Story Time Tent Application OPEN

Calling all CSRA Children’s Authors!

This year, the Greater Augusta Arts Council and the City of Augusta host the annual Arts in the Heart of Augusta Festival from Friday, Sept. 19 – Sunday, Sept. 21, 2025. This event will again be featuring the Family Area, which is an area of the festival dedicated to the arts education of our littlest arts patrons. Here, children and their families can experience the arts firsthand with activities, a Young Artist Market, Family Stage, arts installations, street performances, and NEW this year – a story time tent featuring up to 5 local children’s authors!

The Family Area Committee is now accepting applications for CSRA based children’s authors of all genres. These creatives are encouraged to become members of the Greater Augusta Arts Council . This membership allows authors membership perks throughout the year, but it is not required to sell books during selected time slots this year. Authors must agree to do two scheduled readings of their work for our littlest patrons and their families at about 15-30 minutes for each session. Authors will be allotted 3 hour slots to display and sell work in the Story Time Tent within the Family Area and must be present for the duration of their assigned time (outside of bathroom breaks).

Deadline extended to August 15, 2025 at 11:59 p.m.

What does the Arts Council membership get me?
-A feature on the Arts Council’s Artist Directory
