05 Sep Meet the Fall 2025 Festival Intern, Hannah!
As a senior at Augusta University, I’ve been given the exciting opportunity to intern with the Greater Augusta Arts Council for Fall 2025. With my first month nearly complete, I can already say it’s been a fantastic and eye-opening experience.
From day one, the team has been incredibly welcoming and supportive, making it easy to jump in and start contributing. My primary role so far has involved assisting with preparations for the upcoming Arts in the Heart of Augusta festival and making cold calls to help engage the community.
During my first week, I was introduced to everyone at the office and given a tour of the building, which helped me feel right at home. I was shown to my desk and encouraged to personalize the space—so naturally, I added a few decorations to make it my own. After getting settled, I dove into researching local businesses and reaching out to them to gather information and explore potential volunteer partnerships.

More recently, I’ve been helping with packaging letters and wristbands for VIP members and the festival’s performers—a task that gave me a better understanding of how much detailed work goes into making large events run smoothly.
One of my favorite things about this internship so far is getting to be a part of the behind-the-scenes process.
I’ve always enjoyed lending a hand wherever needed, especially for events that bring people together. Being able to contribute to something as impactful and beloved as Arts in the Heart feels especially meaningful. It’s amazing to see how much time and coordination goes into planning such a vibrant celebration of culture, food, and the arts.
Looking ahead, I’m really excited about what the rest of this internship has in store. I’ll be stationed at the volunteer sign-in booth during the festival, which means I’ll have the chance to interact with the many incredible people who are giving their time to help make the event a success. I can’t wait to be a part of the energy and community spirit that fills downtown Augusta during the festival weekend.
This first month has already taught me so much, and I know there’s even more to learn in the months ahead. I’m grateful for this opportunity to work with the Greater Augusta Arts Council, and I’m looking forward to continuing to grow, connect, and contribute throughout the rest of the semester.
